If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your booking at any point, you may be eligible to claim a refund from Choose a Challenge. Our Terms and Conditions highlight your entitlement when it comes to booking cancellations and/or refunds.

To apply for a refund you must complete a Refund Request Form. This will be reviewed within five working days of submission. If approved, your refund will be processed within a further five working days.

If fundraising, all donations you have received remain pledged to your chosen charity.

From the time you complete your registration, we offer you an initial ‘cooling off’ period of 72 hours, during which time you may cancel your place on the trip for a small administration fee. Participants who cancel within this 72-hour period are entitled to a full refund of any registration fees paid (less a £25 administration fee).

If you cancel your trip at any point after your initial cooling off period has expired, up to 10 weeks before the departure date, you will sacrifice your registration fee, including the extension trip registration fee, if applicable. If you have made any additional payments to us, such as a Flexi payment or Balance payment, then you will be eligible to claim a full refund of these.

If you cancel your trip within 10 weeks of departure, you will not be charged a cancellation fee, however 100% of payments made or due are fully non-refundable. This includes any outstanding balance payments and/or flexi payments which become due at ten weeks before departure.

In the event that we cancel your place on the trip due to any medical condition that you declared at sign-up, you will be entitled to receive a full refund of all payments made to Choose a Challenge towards your trip costs.

Please note: If we cancel your place as a result of a medical condition that you failed to declare on your original booking, then you will not be eligible for any refund outside of the above provisions, and will be advised to contact your travel insurer.

Choose a Challenge will follow advice from both the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and our ground agents in regards safety and security within any destination country. If the FCDO advises UK citizens not to travel to your chosen destination then we will cancel your booking. In this case, you will be entitled to a full refund of any payments made to us towards your trip costs. If the FCDO does not specifically advise against all travel to your destination, your trip will continue as planned and we will not be able to make any refunds.

If we are forced to make a ‘Significant Change’ (as defined in our Terms and Conditions), where possible you will be offered alternative arrangements or a free transfer to a different trip. In the event you are not able to accept the new arrangements or change your trip, we will cancel your booking and you will be entitled to claim a full refund of your registration fee(s), as well as any other recoverable payments made to Us.

Choose a Challenge reserves the right to cancel a trip prior to departure for any reason, including logistical problems and insufficient participant numbers. A trip with insufficient sign-ups would typically be cancelled at least 4 months before departure. If we do cancel your trip at any time then you will be offered a free transfer to an alternative trip, subject to availability. If you are not able to accept this transfer then we will cancel your booking and you will be entitled to receive a full refund of all payments made to us towards your trip costs.

We hope the above information is helpful. If you have any questions or concerns about your booking, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help.
