In 2020, we started offering all of our participants the opportunity to offset the vast majority of their trip’s carbon emissions: From 2021, our entire company became carbon neutral. In fact, as we were unable to run our trips in 2020, last year we were actually carbon negative!

So how does it work? Well, we’ve teamed up with a European non-profit organisation called WeForest, which works tirelessly with local people and projects around the globe with the mission to fight climate change by planting trees.

The money you contribute to offsetting your trip goes to one such project in Zambia, where WeForest works with hundreds of small-scale farmers to plant trees in order to sequester these harmful carbon emissions.

The project also assists the local community by providing training and tools to diversify their sources of income, while planting and protecting local forests. As a result, they receive a higher income, diversify their economic activities and learn new skills, which ultimately allows their local farmers to become self-sufficient.
