Anyone with a known physical or mental health condition (including asthma), or disability, must disclose this at the point of registration. If you are signed up and have since been diagnosed with a health condition, you must declare this to us immediately. You can notify us in one of two ways:

1. Send an email to team@chooseachallenge.com.

2. Login to your registration page and update the ‘Further Information’ section of your booking.

Choose a Challenge employs an Expedition Medical Advisor to pre-screen all participants before their trips to ensure everyone is fit to travel. If further details are required, we will notify participants on an individual basis. In the event that you are not cleared to travel due to a medical condition or disability, you will only be entitled to a refund of your registration fee(s) if you declared this to us at the point of registration.

In addition to this pre-departure screening, we advise all participants to book an appointment with their family doctor at least six weeks before travel.  This is particularly pertinent to those with known health conditions, including asthma, as your GP will be in a position to advise what (if any) medications and/or precautions you should be taking during your trip.

If you do take any regular medications and are required to bring them with you, we suggest that you check allowances with both the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Immigration Authorities of your destination country.

Remember to declare any health issues to your travel insurer, too, as failure to do so will most likely invalidate your insurance policy.

We hope you found the above information useful. If you have any health-related questions or concerns prior to departure, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help.
