Choose a Challenge offers package tours that each include accommodation in their itineraries. You can expect basic, dormitory-style accommodation, room-sharing with at least one other person from your group. Rooms will be clean, tidy and spacious. Your host will cook meals for the group in accordance with your itinerary

Tented accommodation is included during the trekking portion of some of our international challenges. If you are travelling either to Machu Picchu, Kilimanjaro or the High Atlas Mountains then you can expect to share a tent during the trek itself with one other participant. Tents are typically 3-person tents, shared between two people, thereby offering additional space. Choice will be given where possible. When camping, meals will be served either al fresco or in a large dining tent.

Either side of your main trek, you will be in shared accommodation. Each guesthouse or hostel is equipped with hot running water, so that you can take a warm shower before and after your trek. If you are attending our Everest Base Camp trip then your entire itinerary will consist of multi-share rooms: Various mountain villages are located along the trail, in which you will stay at teahouses hosted by local families.

During each of our international treks, the staff will give you blankets at night for extra warmth. These will supplement your 3 or 4 season sleeping bag and any extra clothing you have packed.

For those attending one of our extension packages, the provisions will be similar to that of the first and last night on your main itinerary, being shared accommodation in a guesthouse or similar abode. Our Amazon Explorer package in Peru includes two nights in tented accommodation. Similarly, our Edge of the Sahara package in Morocco includes one night in a traditional Berber tent.

We hope the above information is helpful. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the accommodation provisions at your particular destination, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help.
